FARM SHOP MOBILE LUBE MECHANIC

TITLE:                     FARM SHOP LUBE MECHANIC

LOCATION:             ARVIN, CA

COMPENSATION:  $17.50 - $22.50 / HOUR

PURPOSE:

Perform all types of preventative maintenance and minor repair tasks on various farming equipment. Examples are, but not limited to, vehicles, tractors, booster, implements, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

• Support Farm Shop initiatives in improving and sustaining an effective maintenance and repair program at all times.
• Perform various types of preventative maintenance tasks and repairs on a variety of medium and large agricultural equipment and light duty motor vehicles.
• Assist co-workers in the shop and in the field.
• Effectively communicate between coworkers and management at all times.
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times.
• Must follow directions from Manager / Supervisor.
• Support the shop and service truck 5S initiatives.
• Must follow all required safety procedures and guidelines.
• Lead by example the Division’s Mission, Strategy, and Values.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to continuously work outdoors all day in various and sometimes extreme weather conditions. Ability to inspect equipment and product. Ability to continuously work with product and equipment at ground level. Ability to manipulate small parts. Ability to work on uneven terrain both on foot and while aboard moving equipment. Ability to get on and off various stationary and moving equipment. Must be able to work in different temperatures (working temperatures as hot as 100° to 110° F and as cold as 32° F). Must wear corrective lenses if required/listed on driver’s license. Must be able to work in a high noise area. Must be able to move items weighing up to 75 lbs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience required.
• Must have the mechanical aptitude and knowledge in the proper use of hand, pneumatic, and electric power tools.
• Must be able to properly organize, clean, maintain, and safely operate out of a large service lube truck.
• Must have prior knowledge of performing p/m service tasks and minor mechanical repairs on various types of motor vehicles, medium and large farm equipment in a field environment.
• Must be a detail orientated person with the ability to properly fill out work order maintenance repair information, parts requests, and equipment condition reports.
• Must have prior use and knowledge of performing tasks on a computer or smart pad devices.
• Must be able to clearly communicate with Farm and Shop personnel.
• Know and follow prescribed shop and field safety regulations and procedures.
• Must have a valid California driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record and have own transportation with acceptable insurance.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.
