This position will work closely with the senior managers and staff in transportation, shipping, and warehouse departments to ensure departmental goals are met across the company supply chain. Through this process the work and experience is defined to increase knowledge, skill, and ability to promote into more responsible roles within the function. This is an entry level position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Operations Management Trainee assists with logistical planning, quality control, productivity analysis, and maintenance and supply chain demand planning. This developmental position will learn the operations in the Warehouse, Shipping, and Transportation functions through the key responsibility of assisting the senior managers to improve product flow and cost efficiency in all processes, and by use of analytical control and data analysis programs. The position will identify areas to improve analytical control and data analysis and create focused tools and programs. The Operations Management Trainee will collect and enter daily production data into key systems and generate reports for analysis which can include the production supply chain including packaging inventories, raw product availability, and sales demand.
Continuous use of both hands; including grasping, pulling and pushing. Sight, hearing, lifting, standing, climbing stairways, walking and balancing both feet on even and uneven surfaces, bending, twisting, crawling, stooping, kneeling, reaching forward, reaching overhead, reaching below shoulder, wrist turning, neck turning.
The ideal candidate is a recent college graduate with a degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Manufacturing, Purchasing, all areas within Agriculture Business, Food Science or in a related degree field. Candidate should be self-directed and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and possess strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required along with the ability to communicate effectively with people in a variety of positions, situations and environments. Must be organized, enthusiastic, detail oriented, and possess strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work overtime, and at times on different shifts including some weekends when required for work and developmental experience. Must have a valid California driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record and have own transportation with acceptable insurance. Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen.
