Overview

TITLE:                                ELECTRICIAN

LOCATION:                       PASCO, WASHINGTON

COMPENSATION:            $30.00 / HOUR

 

PURPOSE:

 

Install and wire various electrical, construction and maintenance projects; troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical breakdowns.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

  • Make periodic inspections of plant equipment to determine potential maintenance problems.
  • Handle minor breakdowns without assistance.
  • Trouble shoot and repair three phase circuits.
  • Record findings during preventative maintenance.
  • Assist mechanics to obtain parts as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  • Support all Production activities, as required.
  • Other duties assigned by the supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Ability to move in food processing facilities (sometimes through narrow passages, in wet areas, or on elevated platforms). Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to operate hand and power tools. Ability to work outdoors. Must be able to work in different temperatures (working temperatures as hot as 100° to 110° F and as cold as -20° F to 32° F). Must be able to work in a high noise area. Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 lbs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a minimum of one year experience as Electrician Level 1 or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass NFPA 7OE electrical safety training.
  • Must be able to pass the Electrician 2A qualification exam and demonstrate a working knowledge of all aspects of the Electrician Level 1.
  • Must be able to wire, troubleshoot, control voltage, circuits, and make repairs.
  • Must have general computer knowledge (Microsoft Windows).
  • Must have a good attendance and safety record.
  • Must be able to install electrical devices such as frequency drives and transformers with assistance.
  • Must be able to identify and use all test equipment safely.
  • Must understand and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Must understand and comply with all company safety policies, incluiding Lock-out/Tag-out procedures and policies.
  • Must be able to document findings of work performed on work daily logs.
  • Must be able to read and understand written information in English.
  • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.
