Overview

TITLE:                              MAINTENANCE LEAD PERSON

LOCATION:                      PASCO, WASHINGTON

COMPENSATION:           $24.00 -$30.00 / HOUR

 

PURPOSE:      

To manage, train, and direct maintenance crew. Perform various maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or Production Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Perform all duties of a maintenance employee. Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics. Troubleshoot all equipment with minimal supervision within the facility. Disassemble, re-assemble all industrial mechanical equipment within the facility. Effectively communicate with the supervisor, subordinates, and peers. Manage and maintain a safe, and clean work environment. Train personnel to level 3. Manage department in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor. Willing and able to assist the electrical, refrigeration, and technical departments as needed. Take leadership role whenever needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have Forklift Certification.
  • Must have knowledge of all phases of mechanical equipment including reduction gear and double reduction gear, bearings, belting, and pumps.
  • Must be able to cut with plasma, acetylene torch, and power tools.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical safety Procedures; including chlorine hazards, confine space and Lockout/Tag out procedures.
  • Ability to Weld with TIG and MIG on stainless and black steel. Welds must pass food grade requirements.
  • Must have the ability to understand and follow the facilities Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’S).
  • Employee must be computer literate and have the skills required to fully utilize the application software currently provide by the company.
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be have a positive and professional attitude towards employees, visitors and vendors.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to learn new techniques.
  • Employee must be able to train new team members as required.
  • Must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to train and re-train on all of the above trades.
  • Must have a good Attendance and safety record.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record.
  • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to operate hand and power tools. Ability to inspect equipment. Ability to work on and build equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to occasionally move about inside food processing facilities (sometimes through narrow passages, in wet areas, or on elevated platforms). Ability to continuously work with product and equipment at ground level. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to work outdoors. Must be able to work in a high noise area. Must be able to work in different temperatures (working temperatures as hot as 100° to 110° F and as cold as -20° F to 32° F).Must be able to move items weighing up to 75 lbs.
