FIELD SAMPLER

TITLE:                     FIELD SAMPLER

LOCATION:             LAMONT, CA

COMPENSATION:  $18.00 - $20.00 / HOUR

PURPOSE:

Primary job purpose is the collection of stand counts within vegetable production, submitting reports from tested fields, and reporting quality issues to supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Primary job function is the collection of field samples within vegetable production, submitting reports from tested fields, reporting quality issues to supervisor.
• Must drive to surrounding areas and make both physical and visual checks on field condition with regards to quality, tonnage, stand count, etc.
• Candidate will also be working in and around production facilities.
• Typical number of hours worked between 45-50 hours per week.
• Must also maintain Good Agricultural Practice record for food safety program.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to continuously work indoors and outdoors in various and sometimes extreme weather conditions. Ability to continuously work with product and equipment at ground level. Ability to work on uneven terrain both on foot and while aboard moving equipment. Ability to get on and off various stationary and moving equipment. Must wear corrective lenses if required/listed on driver’s license. Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 lbs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High School Diploma and farming experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate with the public.
• Must have good mathematical skills.
• Must be able to read and understand written information in English.
• Must have the ability to travel. Travel requirements may be several days at a time to outside farming areas to support seasonal operations. Some overnight travel may be required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record.
• Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.
