  • Overview

    PURPOSE:

     

    Manage all shipping operations.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

     

    • Train, direct and motivate shipping staff with professionalism.
    • Manage shipping, operations, receiving staff as well as office personnel.
    • Support all shipping and warehouse activities.
    • Ensure accuracy of inventory and inventory adjustments.
    • Ensure the loaded product is of high quality with the accurate temperature.
    • Ensure all paperwork is accurate and completed properly for all loading orders.
    • Ensure appropriate paperwork is sent to the Accounting Department.
    • Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    Continuous use of both hands; including grasping, pulling and pushing. Sight, hearing, lifting, standing, climbing stairways, walking and balancing both feet on even and uneven surfaces, bending, twisting, crawling, stooping, kneeling reaching forward, reaching overhead, reaching below shoulder, wrist turning, neck turning.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Minimum ten years progressive shipping management experience.
    • Must have extensive knowledge of shipping and warehouse operations.
    • Must have extensive knowledge of all GIS (Grimmway Information system) related to shipping and warehouse.
    • Good computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Good grasp of mathematical skills.
    • Must be positive and productive in a high intense work environment.
    • Must have excellent attendance record.
    • Must be a self- starter, dependable and flexible.
    • Must be motivated and work well under stress.
    • Must be familiar with HACCP and GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).
    • Ability to train and lead all shipping personnel in their work performance.
    • Must have the ability to travel when required.
    • Must be bi-lingual, English/Spanish, with the ability to speak, read, and write in both.
    • Must have a valid California driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record and have own transportation with acceptable insurance.
    • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen.
