MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory experience in food processing, fresh produce, or manufacturing.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Must be bilingual, English/Spanish, with the ability to speak read and write in both.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Mechanical aptitude for understanding wash line equipment and coordinating with maintenance.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record.
- Proficient in recordkeeping, reporting, and basic computer applications (Excel, production systems).
- Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical, and functional capacity evaluation.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in food science, agriculture, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of potato handling, grading, or wash line operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
- Supervise the daily operation of the potato wash line to ensure efficient throughput and minimal downtime.
- Monitor wash line processes to ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and yield standards.
- Oversee proper handling, grading, and cleaning of potatoes according to company and customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinate with maintenance, and escalate problems to minimize production interruptions.
- Monitor supply of raw product, chemicals, and other wash line inputs to maintain continuous operation.
- Direct, train, and support wash line operators and crew members in best practices and safe operation.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching to achieve production targets.
- Foster a positive and safe work environment that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and respect.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, including safety, attendance, and workplace conduct.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasionally exposed to working in high places, or vibration; regularly exposed to fumes/airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals smells, and outdoor weather conditions; and frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions [non-weather] and working near moving parts. Must be able to work in a high noise area. Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and smell; regularly required to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and frequently required to stand, talk or hear. Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
