ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Perform as a first-level leader in a complex food packaging facility, providing coaching, support, and direction to members of the assigned work team. Analyze data to evaluate goal completion and product yields. Review schedules and allocate team members to complete production expectations. Manage team members in various roles, including graders, machine operators, packers, forklift drivers, team leads, and shift supervisors. Lead daily team huddles to communicate announcements, safety reminders, production goals, and approaching deadlines. Evaluate subordinate performance, communicate with employees, and provide information for work performance improvement, if needed. Able to identify production line bottlenecks. Participate in Operational Team meetings with other supervisors, team leads, and managers. Perform Root Cause Analysis. Coordinate production activities with maintenance, automation, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. Operate within SOPs to support employee and food safety, product quality, and workplace organization, with a focus on efficiency. Address employee concerns, working with contractor representatives as necessary.
Capable of troubleshooting issues related to automated process control resulting in production downtime. Capable of implementing more efficient processes by applying lean manufacturing principles with an emphasis on automated solutions. Perform at world class level obtaining overall equipment effectiveness above 70% in the pack room and washroom. Ability to developed and hire high ceiling individuals to run operations. Ability to hold individuals accountable and have self-accountability. Ability to evaluate team member performance, set the pace for the work environment, and have a sense of urgency. Follow and enforce all food safety, safety, and operation regulations. Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to move frequently about inside the office and food processing facilities and/or occasionally, farming fields. Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment. Must be able to move items weighing up to 50lbs.
