Grimmway Produce Group is seeking a Seed Operations Manager responsible for all conventional and organic carrot seed operations, including overseeing seed procurement, seed inventories, yield and performance metrics, and variety trials and selection. Additional Info

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Ag Business, Crop Science or related field required with a minimum of 5 years’ post-college experience in the vegetable seed and/or vegetable farming industry.
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational and bookkeeping skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Must be metrics driven with a general understanding of farming costs and yields, and the ability to analyze data.
  • Must have knowledge of proper field trial designs, methods, and data collection.
  • Results oriented, ability to set goals and objectives for self and team and take accountability for successful performance of both.
  • Must have the ability to interact with and form meaningful working relationships with all levels of farm personnel, seed industry representatives, and others in government and academia.
  • Must have ability to travel seasonally to all growing areas as necessary.
  • Travel is approximately 50% of the time both locally and out-of-state.
  • Remote work not available for this position.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with clean DMV driving record.
  • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Experience with organic farming a plus.
  • Previous experience with field trial work and/or experience working in the seed industry a plus.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Benefits

Total Rewards:            $90,000 - $140,000 / YEAR

  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
