JOB TITLE:                    SUMMER HELP 2026

LOCATION:                    VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN ARVIN, BAKERSFIELD, LAMONT, & SHAFTER  

REPORTS TO:               DEPARTMENT MANAGER 

PURPOSE: 

The Summer Help position is meant to provide a paid work experience to high school students, as well as first- & second-year college students. This position is a ten-to-twelve-week program in the months of May-August. Children of current GPG employees, CTEC/ROC, & FARMS Program students will receive priority in placement.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Must be at least 16 years of age; minors must provide a valid work permit (high school diploma accepted for graduating seniors).
• Undergraduate applicants must be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours).
• Must pass pre-placement requirements, including drug/alcohol screening, physical, functional capacity evaluation, and background check if applicable.
• Must have reliable transportation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

• Perform seasonal duties based on operational needs; positions and assignments vary annually.
• Work in indoor and/or outdoor environments as assigned.
• Complete basic data entry, counting, and alphabetical or numerical filing.
• Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Assist with general office duties such as organizing, copying, scanning, labeling, packing/unpacking, and light cleaning.

SUMMER HELP OPPORTUNITES AVAILABLE WITHIN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

The ability to frequently move about inside the office. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment. Occasionally, must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day.  

STARTING WAGE:                            $16.90 - $19.50
