  • Overview



    To assist with the accounting and costing of farming operations. 




    • Assist with monthly closing duties related to crops.
    • Develop and maintain crop standard rates.
    • Prepare monthly journal entries to relieve crop cost inventories based on current standards.
    • Review COGs and Crop Inventories to ensure costs are being relieved timely and accurately.
    • Develop and maintain farming overhead allocation rates and prepare monthly journal entries to allocate farming overhead costs to crops. 
    • Analysis and ad hoc reporting related to crop and farming overhead expenses.
    • Assist farming managers with reporting needs and meet monthly to review costs and standard rates.       




    Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to occasionally move about inside the office. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment.

    Additional Info



    • Must have a four-year degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Must have three to five years of experience in ag cost accounting and have a strong working knowledge of the principles of cost accounting
    • Must have experience with BI tools; including the ability to generate original data queries
    • Experience with sql based databases a plus, including data mining and report generation using Tableau or equivalent BI tool
    • Must possess strong computer skills and be an intermediate to advanced user of Excel (proficient with vlookup/hlookup, sumif functions and pivot tables)
    • Ten-key proficient required along with the ability to operate other office equipment
    • Must be independent, organized and detail oriented
    • Must possess good people skills and have professional appearance
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be able to work overtime and some weekends to meet deadlines 
    • Must be able to read and understand written information in English
    • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record
    • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen and background check
