  • Overview



    Assist the Field Technology Specialist with the day-to-day requirements needed to support the company with installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of field deployed technology assets. Assets include GPS auto steer, telematics, weather stations, and other technology systems. Serve as support for a wide variety of precision farming operations and techniques. Assist in the development of a more robust maintenance program centered on our Precision Farming Assets designed to increase efficiencies, reduce unexpected downtime, and improve equipment visibility and utilization.  




    • Support all Precision Farming related installations, maintenance, and repair.
    • Assets include GPS auto steer systems, GPS base stations, heavy equipment/vehicle telematics, weather stations, radio communication equipment, 12v solar systems, and other new technology equipment.
    • Perform independently and travel to various farming regions throughout the year to support company Technology equipment.
    • Work closely with the Field technology Specialist to support the day to day diagnostics & repairs.
    • Assist in the development of a Precision Farming equipment preventative maintenance and repair program that is designed to improve efficiencies by reducing failures and increasing system uptimes.
    • Assist in maintaining an optimized parts inventory.
    • Assist in the tracking of invoices for all Precision Farming/Technology related service/repairs and maintenance.
    • Must be a self-motivated and open-minded person that is willing to progress into new and advanced areas of precision farming technologies.
    • Keep a customer service orientated approach in all day-to-day interactions.
    • Responsible for 5S Organization of your assigned work areas.




    Ability to continuously work outdoors all day in various and sometimes extreme weather conditions. Ability to continuously work with equipment at ground level. Ability to manipulate small parts. Ability to work on uneven terrain both on foot and while aboard moving equipment. Ability to get on and off various stationary and moving equipment. Must be able to work in different temperatures (working temperatures as hot as 100° to 110° F and as cold as 32°F). Must be able to work in a high noise area. Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 lbs.

    Additional Info




    • Previous experience with Precision Farming/Agricultural Equipment Technology equipment is a plus.
    • Must have experience with 12-volt electrical systems is a plus.
    • Must have the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with all levels of employees in a professional manner at all times.
    • Must be able to clearly understand and take directions that are applied to assigned tasks.
    • Must be willing and able to learn new technology-based systems in an “on the Job” training environment.
    • Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
    • Seasonally, some overnight travel outside of Kern County may be required.
    • Travel to various farming regions throughout the year to assist and support company Precision Farming operations will be required.
    • Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record.
    • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.
