PURPOSE:   To clean and sanitize equipment facilities, and grounds of production plants following production runs.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:   - Responsible for the removal of product and solid wastes in preparation of the sanitizing time. - Remove solid waste and raw products from floors. - Wash down equipment using hoses and clean up floors using brooms, shovels and hoses. - Cover and protect all sensitive equipment with liners//plastic covers. - Rinse all food contact equipment and structure of the plant. - Apply cleaning chemicals to all equipment (food and non-food contact areas), using centralized or portable foaming systems, rinse and remove of cleaning chemicals. - Assist with the disassembling of specified equipment for deep cleaning. - Apply concentrated sanitizer to walls and overhead. - Apply acidic chemicals to break down accumulated sugars on weekends. - May be required to do general clean up on the weekends. - May be asked to rotate to a different area of the plant (same position and shift) based on business need. - Provide all required paperwork and documentation as needed to appropriate parties. - Follow directions as directed by lead or supervisor. - Perform other duties as assigned by lead or supervisor.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to move about inside food processing facilities (sometimes through narrow passages, in wet areas, or on elevated platforms). Ability to continuously work with product and equipment at ground level and on uneven surfaces. Ability to inspect equipment and product before QA pre Op inspections. It is not expected that the Agronomist will assume the duties of a licensed scout or Pest Control Advisor, but it is expected that they participate in pest control discussion and offer suggestions when appropriate. - Responsible for staying current with all regulations, standards, and other regulatory issues, including pesticide label changes, that are relevant for organic farming. - The Agronomist will cultivate effective working relationships with various vendors, industry representatives, university personnel, and others as necessary to help achieve job objectives and promote the interests of the company. - It is also expected that the Agronomist will participate in, and help organize, on-farm research and conduct field trials that are needed and important to the company. - The Agronomist will assist in collecting and analyzing trial data, presenting results and conclusions of trials to others, and periodically educating other farm personnel and upper management on best management practices used in farming. - The agronomist may also be asked to perform duties that are outside of this general description of essential job functions.    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   Ability to occasionally move about inside the office, food processing facilities and/or farming fields.  Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment. Ability to inspect equipment and product, and continuously work with product and equipment at ground level. Ability to continuously work outdoors all day in various and sometimes extreme weather conditions. Ability and willingness to work with farming chemicals. Ability to manipulate small parts. Ability to work on uneven terrain both on foot and while aboard moving equipment. Ability to get on and off various stationary and moving equipment. Must wear corrective lenses if required/listed on driver’s license.

PURPOSE:   Perform repairs and maintenance on automotive and light/medium truck vehicles.
